NSC GOES FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH

National Sales Conference (NSC), now in its fourth year, breaks previous records for attendance, exhibitor numbers and sponsorship

NSC, the UK’s premier sales event took place at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena on 30 November. Organised by Lincoln West, NSC was sponsored by LinkedIn and QStream, and supported by the Institute of Directors (IoD), the Institute of Sales Management (ISM), the Institute of Leadership & Management (the ILM) and the Association of Professional Sales (APS).

The halls of the Ricoh Arena were filled with over 600 Sales Directors, Heads of Sales and leading sales professionals, from every corner of British industry, eager to listen and learn. They were treated to a fascinating keynote on ‘the DNA of a Champion’ by legendary England rugby union coach Sir Clive Woodward. Sir Clive’s message came across that, in business as in sport, attitude is everything. With the right mindset, sales professionals can train themselves and their teams to overcome obstacles and pressure to achieve outstanding performance.

It was a theme that resonated throughout an inspirational day, when delegates also heard from a superb speaker line-up, including:

  • Julie Holmes, conference host and ardent advocate of ‘whole company selling’

  • Allan Pease, international best-selling author and speaker, and an expert on how to program your brain to reach your goals – and change your life

  • Graeme Codrington, future-thinker and specialist in identifying disruptive change and taking advantage of the opportunities it brings

  • Andy Bounds, sales guru and master of how to get customers to buy.

NSC 2017 featured additional breakout sessions with sales specialists Jon Bradshaw, Simon HazeldineVernon BubbBrian Mayne and Andy Hanselman. They offered rich variety and expertise on a day of new ideas, practical solutions, networking opportunities and entertainment.

Sales Learning & Development Conference

Running alongside NSC was Sales Learning & Development Conference (SLD) - for Sales Enablement and Sales L&D professionals. The event was again well attended, providing fascinating insights into how to make the most of your salespeople, with many major brands represented. SLD is the UK’s only one-day conference for those responsible building sales teams and for developing the skills and performance of sales professionals within their company.

National Sales Exhibition

Now in its seventh year, the Exhibition proved the ideal place for businesses to market their products and services to the UK’s largest gathering of sales leaders. Delegates were able to mingle freely with conference speakers at the event, as well as tapping into the knowledge and expertise of a host of other sales specialists. Steve Lindsey, Managing Director of event organiser Lincoln West, paid tribute to the many excellent exhibitors. “Without their commitment to professional selling we would not have been able to put on such a fantastic event. We hope all delegates will take the time to look at the fantastic propositions these businesses provide,” he said.
